FIR has been lodged against two unknown people

LAHORE:

A former Punjab University (PU) professor was shot dead by unidentified suspects on Multan Road on Friday. The victim has been identified as Ahmed Ali Chatha. On the day of the incident, the victim left his house in Mustafa Town reportedly to see sacrificial animals. Meanwhile, two unidentified motorcyclists intercepted and shot at him. He sustained serious bullet injuries and died on the spot. The victim had also served as the university’s additional controller examination. DIG Operations Ashfaq Khan said that the slain professor Chatha was going to see his sacrificial animals at the farmhouse when suddenly unknown suspects attacked at him. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot while the culprits succeeded to flee from the scene. The deceased Chatha was shot in the head by unknown persons. An FIR has been lodged against two unknown people. A special team has been made to arrest the killers of the slain professor. The police assured that the killers will be arrested.
