PESHAWAR:

Special Assistant to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister on Information and Local Government Kamran Bangash on Wednesday claimed that the prevailing coronavirus has started to wane in the province.

He urged the public to keep following the precautionary measures, especially while celebrating Eidul Azha to prevent its further spread.

Bangash also said that the exponential increase in the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in June this year, when the province recorded a high of 1,035 cases per day, was due to the lax adoption of precautionary measures during Eidul Fitr.

"Our smart lockdown policy for containing the epidemic has been successful," he said.

The toll of Covid-19 patients has decreased in the province.
