A woman who had hung herself in her Rawalpindi home late last month had penned a suicide note, found from the scene, herself, forensic experts said in a report on Monday.
A forensic handwriting expert has suggested that Sadaf Zahra, who was found hanging by the neck in her room, had written the suicide note. A handwriting expert at the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory (PFSA) said Zohra’s husband, Ali Salman, did not write the note.
Police had booked Salman for alleged murder on a complaint filed by Zohras’ sister. The suspect is currently in jail on judicial remand.
Meanwhile, a police spokesperson said that the handwriting report on the suicide is but one piece of the evidence jigsaw, adding that the complete picture surrounding the woman’s death will become clear after all forensic reports, which are still being prepared, are compiled. He added that these forensic reports and the autopsy report will be considered final and the investigation of the case will be pursued in light of it.
