ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Syed Qalb-i-Hassan on Monday expressed serious concern over the vacant posts lying in the special courts in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) since long.

Hassan said in a statement that despite the directions of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee (NJPMC) and the Supreme Court, the law ministry had failed to fill vacancies, which resulted in delay in dispensation of justice.

“The ad-hoc ism must be stopped and handing over additional judicial work to the Judges of Special Courts is causing serious delays to the dispensation of justice, which culminates into hurdles in the pursuit of justice,” he said in his statement.

“Hence, it is demanded that Ministry of Law & Justice must ensure the process of filling of vacant posts in Special Courts forthwith and the appointment and supervision must be handed over to Islamabad High Court, Islamabad, to avoid inordinate delays in appointments in future.”
