The opposition’s All Parties Conference (APC) would be held immediately after Eidul Azha to devise a joint strategy against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government.
The meeting would be presided by Opposition Leader and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad and he would also announce the date of the meeting.
All opposition parties including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), and Balochistan National Party (BNP) would participate in the conference.
According to reports, the federal government’s two-year performance, including National Accountably Bureau’s (NAB’s) action against the opposition and country’s economic situation would be discussed in the conference.
On July 20, it was reported that PML-N’s delegation would include Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Ayaz Sadiq.
In their earlier meeting, PPP and PML-N also agreed to form “a joint action committee” to formulate a common strategy against the government.
The joint action committee will comprise PML-N’s Khawaja Asif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Sanullah and Marriyum Aurangzeb, and the PPP’s Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Farhatullah Babar and Nayyar Bukhari.
The committee will also include ANP’s Mian Ifthikar and Haider Khan Hoti, while Mir Kabeer Shahi will represent the National Party of Balochistan. The committee would focus on the way to “rid the nation of this government”.
