A day after the city confirmed its first dengue fever case for the year, Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Captain (retired) Anwarul Haq on Saturday visited different areas of the city to review the performance of anti-dengue surveillance teams. He inspected the activities of indoor and outdoor surveillance teams in Christian Colony, Golden Jubilee Society and other areas of the city. The field staff briefed him how they were conducting surveillance of locked houses as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) while pamphlets were also being distributed amongst shopkeepers and residents to create awareness about infectious diseases such as dengue and novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and how they can be defeated. Haq urged residents to cooperate with the district administration and health staff apart from keeping their houses clean, leaving no place wet or with standing water.
