RAWALPINDI:

The district management has once again decided to impose lockdown in the coronavirus hot spot areas even on the occasion of Eidul Adha. More hotspot areas would be included in the smart lockdown in the next two days. The entrance routes of all such areas have been sealed. Nearly half of the area is completely under smart lockdown. Only vegetables, meat, chicken, grocery shops, and medical store are allowed to open in the areas under lockdown. The Metro Bus service remains suspended in the twin cities for the last 120 days while the cinema theatres, cinepax, and wedding halls are also closed. However, with the ease in the lockdown in more than half of the city, all the small and big markets, shopping malls, commercial plazas, and markets are fully operational and both the business and trade activities are in full swing. The public transport is also operating, without adhering to the social distancing practices, while the violation of the ban on pillion riding is also observed.
