Watch: Asim Azhar drops new single 'Soneya'

The song has already crossed half a million views on YouTube

Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has just come out with a new song called Soneya. Within less than a day of its release, the song has crossed over half a million views on YouTube. Written by Indian singer-songwriter Kunal Verma, Soneya is composed by Asim himself and in his own words is straight from his heart.

The hard hitting track is acccompanied by a sleek music video directed by FIda Moin. Described as a "heartbreak anthem' in the YouTube description, both the song and the video aptly explores the inner turmoil in a person suffering from an end to a relationship. 

Upon it's relase, the song has witnessed a favourable response on social media. Taking to Twitter Asim thanked his friends and share an itneresting bit of infromation about the new song. "Feels so good to be about what I am. My music. Thank you for the overwhelming response on Soneya! When I made this a year ago, for some reason I thought it would never release because every time we would try we’d face a new challenge. Today, its here," he said.
