Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan denies testing negative for Covid-19

Bollywood star rubbished rumours surrounding his health

Entertainment Desk July 24, 2020

Just recently, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan became subject of a social media hoax surrounding his covid-19 diagnosis, which had to be clarified by the actor himself, reported Filmfare.

The Gulabo Sitabo star tested positive for the coronavirus two weeks ago, along with his son Abhishek. Soon after, his daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Aishwarya Rai and Aaradhya respectively also tested positive for the same. Even though Amitabh and Abhishek were shifted to the hospital instantly, Aishwarya was admitted after a couple of days.

However, news reports on Thursday suggested that Amitabh has almost recovered from the virus and a few even claimed that he has tested negative as well. Following this, the Sholay actor shared the report on Twitter and wrote, “This news is incorrect, irresponsible, fake and an incorrigible lie!"

Let’s just say it’s great that Big B is clearing the air from time to time and keeping his fans updated on his health. Nevertheless, the Bollywood veteran, 77, is currently admitted in Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai.

When initially diagnosed for the disease, Amitabh instantly asked everyone who had remained in close proximity to him to get tested as well. "I have tested covid-19 positive... shifted to a hospital. All that has been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested.”

Aside from the millions of fans that have been praying for his health since then, former Pakistani cricketer and renowned fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar also wished him a speedy recovery. "Get well soon Amit jee, prayers for a speedy recovery from all your fans across the border."
