
In accordance with the guidelines issued by the federal government, the Sindh government too will organise 'ijtimai qurbani' at the union council-level on the occasion of Eidul Azha.
Giving a briefing on the measures to be taken for Eidul Azha amid the coronavirus outbreak, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the Sindh government had also devised standard operating procedures to try to curb the spread of coronavirus during the religious festival.
"All deputy commissioners, municipal commissioners and municipal representatives will take steps to prevent the trend of individual sacrifices under the mutual strategy," he claimed, adding nobody would be allowed to carry out sacrifices on the roads.
Moreover, the minister said, the government was appealing to the people to prioritise 'ijtimai qurbani' organised by mosques and other organisations maintain cleanliness. He also urged people to avoid public gatherings and perform Eid prayers with precautionary measures.
According to him, the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board would be responsible for taking animal offal to landfill sites.
