In midst of pandemic: Improved economy to create jobs

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the government has announced a relief package for the construction sector, besides improving the national economy to generate employment opportunities for the people, remarked Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Additional Commissioner Ajmal Khan. He made the remarks while speaking at the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Wednesday. FBR Deputy Commissioner Usman Asif, who was also present on the occasion, gave a detailed briefing on the amendments to the income tax law under the Finance Act 2020.

Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Yasir Nabi gave presentation on amendments to the sales tax law. Speaking on the occasion, SCCI President Maqsood Anwar Pervez and SCCI Standing Committee on Sales Tax Chairman Zahidullah Shinwari said such contacts between tax authorities and the chamber would benefit both the country and revenue collection efforts.
