‘HESCO, SEPCO extorting citizens’

Transformers in all divisions of Sindh haven’t been changed for years, while the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) and Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) are allegedly extorting citizens under the guise of ‘repairing’ the transformers, said Sindh Energy minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh on Tuesday.

Shaikh made these remarks while attending an online session organised by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), where he demanded that NEPRA takes notice of this alleged extortion and play its part in resolving all issues related to electricity supply.
