Former IHC chief justice dies of Covid-19

ISLAMABAD:

The former chief justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC), Sardar Muhammad Aslam, passed away due to coronavirus on Monday. The late chief justice was undergoing treatment at a military hospital in Rawalpindi where he had been kept on a ventilator for the past few days. His funeral prayers will be offered at 4:30pm today in Kahuta. On May 7, secretary to current IHC Chief Justice Ather Minallah tested positive for coronavirus. Asad Khokar got tested for the virus from a government laboratory on May 4, and again from a private medical facility on May 6. The result from the government lab indicated that Khokar had symptoms of the deadly pathogen, whereas the private lab’s result clearly showed that he had contracted the deadly virus. Similarly, On April 14, a member of Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed’s staff had also tested positive for Covid-19. The CJP and his family were also later tested for the virus and the result was negative.
