BFA imposes fine on shops

Inspection teams of Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) conducted raids at various shops and grocery stores in Jhal Magsi and Naushki districts of the province and imposed fine on the outlets for selling substandard food items. The officials inspected hygiene conditions and the quality of food items being sold to people. During a raid in an ice factory at Gandhawa city, a BFA team led by Director Operations Ghulam Murtaza inspected the process and found improper hygiene conditions, presence of insects in the ice and improper procedure for the delivery of ice. A fine was imposed on the factory. Besides, the team also seized prohibited Chinese salt, pan prag gutka and expired food items from various general stores in the area while conducting the raid. Another team of BFA imposed a fine and sealed grocery centres in Naushki after inspecting meat shops for poor hygiene standards, filthy freezers and rotten meat in the stock.
