Truck looted of millions in cash

Four people, including a security guard, were present in the van, with none of them resisting the robbers

At least a dozen armed men on six motorcycles allegedly looted millions of rupees in cash at gunpoint from a cigarette company’s van near Chamra Chowrangi in Korangi Industrial Area on Monday. Korangi SSP Faisal Abdullah Chachar stated that the van had been going to the bank to deposit cash that had been collected from clients. He added that four people, including a security guard, were present in the van, with none of them resisting the robbers. Chachar further said that the company’s employees had earlier informed the police that Rs1 million had been looted, but later claimed that the stolen cash amounted to Rs2.5 million.
