Private schools' association to reopen educational institutes from Aug 15
Reject govt's decision to reopen them on Sept 15, warn of ‘million march’ if stopped
ISLAMABAD:
The All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association (APPSCA) announced on Monday reopening educational institutes from August 15 across the country, rejecting federal government’s earlier decision to reopen them in September.
In a joint press conference, the association observed that students have had to suffer an educational loss as schools and colleges have been closed for the past six to eight months. They asserted that they would open educational institutes from August 15 across the country.
The APPSCA president, Hidayat Khan, added that the virus has slowed down and that cases are also on a decline.
He added that the association had tried to negotiate with the government but they did not listen. “If the government tries to stop us, we will organise a ‘million march’,” Khan warned. He further criticised the federal government, calling it incompetent.
“We will open schools in line with the SOPs,” he said. “Madrassas have been opened, and they have even conducted examinations,” he further stated.
On July 9, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood announced the government's decision to reopen educational institutions from September 15, with strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
During a press conference in Islamabad, the minister said the federal government will formulate SOPs and share them with the provincial governments, adding that provinces have the authority to close institutions which fail to observe government protocol.
Mahmood said the government will review the situation and implementation of SOPs in the first week of September, adding that educational institutions can open their administrative offices and call teachers before officially reopening schools.
Universities can permit their PhD students to conduct research at laboratories with limited numbers, he added, noting that universities can allow students to reside in hostels with only 30 per cent occupancy from August.
Schools should be opened
I am agree with the government dicision
Not safe
Please open Universities we are really very fed up about HEC's and University's Dumb LMS system it completely garbage worst online system which is dead during online papers and nobody respond to our complain disgusting and the most worst thing is the foolish decision of taking paperz 5 paper made us 20 and almost two months we r doing paperz with no gap is it any joke and with mentally and financial expenses please eliminate us with this dumb online system
In my opinion school should not to be open because of Pandemic .We can not risk our student life and online learning is best way.
You have to look the condition of whole country .....that's not possible
But mostly private schools are not following the proper sops.they dont care about teachers and students .they just want their business.
You have to save the future of your nation ,,,we students, are with you. input is there(open shopping malls, food items) then why there is no output(educational activities)
This is not acceptable y this association is enforcing parents to endanger lives of their kids yes covid is slowing down but it is not vanished yet n how will they follow sop it is not possible reopening of educational institutes can increase the number of cases they have gone crazy ..... Most of the schools r business hubs they r not doing this for the sake of education but for their own good in so many months they could have opted for online sessions n other alternate methods but they didn't this is their level of sincerity n now they r threatening for March.....this is really insane
Parents are not ready to send their children to schools in this pandemic situation. The Private schools just want to maximize their loot even at the cost of life risk to the children and the society. Let them organize 'a million March'. The government must not succumb to their undue pressure
It is good decision to reopen the school soon as because students are loosing their time , I don't think so that they can coup up the syllabus before the end of March.
In a country where elders are not willing bro follow SOP,s , and in turn suffered, how do we expect that little kids can follow the same. How can kids keep distancing as almost every second school is a normal house with small classes, where even sitting arrangements cannot be implemented as per required SOP,s. School canteens what would they be feeding, will they be hygienically doing their duties or just feeding whatever is available. It is easier said than done. We being elders have to be very cautious , we even are not aware of the true scenerio and think that cases are going down, the truth is that only the test facilities are going down and people are hiding their conditions with the fear that they will be taken or admitted to a hospital. I have 3 kids of my own, last Monday I was called to my kids school and I saw every staff member without any mask or any precautions. Everything was the same as if nothing happen. This is the concept or should I say is our mentality towards this critical condition. Throughout the world the graph is going upwards and we keep saying it is going down. The worst time is the current situation where it is getting even harder to diagnose the covid19 symptoms as they are now changing.
I am in this favour that the schools clgs all educational institutes should open as soon as possible. So it's a good decision for the youth and the teachers .
