QUETTA:

The prices of flour in the provincial capital Quetta have gone up sharply to Rs55 per kg. The flour is currently being sold at Rs 55 per kg in local markets after the recent hike of Rs3 per kg, according to Express News. Due to the price hike, a 20 kg sack of flour has gone up from Rs1,040 to Rs1,100, while a 50 kg sack of flour sold at Rs1,800 earlier this year has gone up to Rs 2,800. Last month, the price of flour climbed up to Rs400 to Rs500 following a strike and closure of flour mills who demanded the government to lift the ban on inter-district supply of wheat in Balochistan.
