PESHAWAR:

The Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) and the second phase of the Swat Motorway projects have received the go-ahead from the highest project approval body in the country, the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC).

This was disclosed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in a statement on Sunday.

Mahmood termed the two mega projects as critical for the provincial government. Upon completion, he said, they will boost international trade, tourism, industries and other economic activities in the province.

Under the KPEC Project, a 48-kilometre four-lane highway will be constructed from Peshawar to the historic Khyber Pass.
