Covid-19 incidence drops in Sindh

880 new coronavirus cases emerge

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday that 880 new persons had tested positive for the coronavirus in the province overnight, while 22 fell prey to the virus and 3,280 more people recovered from the infection.

Following this, the province's Covid-19 tally has reached 112,118, the death toll has climbed to 1,974 and total recoveries reported in the province added up to 91,383, he added.

In light of these details, the CM observed that the recovery rate was improving day by day while the detection rate was going down. However, he added, the death rate needed to be reduced further, for which services provided at hospitals and isolation centres had to be enhanced.

The CM further stated that 18,761 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in the province presently, among whom 17,938 were in home isolation, 79 were quarantined in isolation centres and 744 were hospitalised. Besides, 526 among them are critically ill, with 72 on ventilators, he said.
