RAWALPINDI:

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) on Thursday started the second phase of dredging the Nullah Leh. In this phase, the massive stormwater drain that passes through Rawalpindi will be cleaned from Kataria Pull area to Ammar Shaheed Chowk. WASA Managing Director (MD) visited the site on Thursday and inspected the cleanliness activity. He directed to increase the depth and width of the water channel to enable the fast water flow in less time. This will also save low-lying areas from getting inundated during monsoon rains, he added. The MD directed teams to dump the residue and rubbish dredged from the nullah at a location far from its banks.
