Canal breach floods villages

As many as 10 villages flooded

As many as 10 villages were flooded and the paddy crop was damaged in Jacobabad late Tuesday night after a 100-feet-wide breach appeared in Baighari Canal in Ghous Bakhash Khoso village. The affected villages include Ghihalpur, Ghous Bux Khoso, Ameer Jan Pathan, Agha Khan Pathan and others. The sudden surge of water as a result of the breach damaged many mud houses in the villages and destroyed the paddy crop. Consequently, multiple villagers have been displaced, contending that the irrigation department’s negligence led to their plight.
