LAHORE:

Lahore Division Commissioner Asif Bilal Lodhi has directed the metropolitan corporation to take strict action against illegal sale of sacrificial animals at spots other than the notified sale points for the purpose.

He said that all measures recommended by the local government and community development (LGCD) and health departments regarding Covid-19 would be implemented in letter and spirit at Lahore’s 12 sale points.

He highlighted that the assistant commissioners would verify the quality and provision of all facilities and arrangements at the sale points.

“The number of sacrificial animals at a sale point would be kept according to the area and space for animals would be allocated as per SOPs,” he said.

He highlighted that the purpose behind setting up more sale points was to help the people to avoid gathering at one spot.

He said that at sale points, the temperature of every person would be checked before entry. He also directed the officials concerned to put all machinery in the field for disposal of rainwater during monsoon.

He said the LWMC would be provided full support during its Eid cleanliness operation to dispose of the waste.

The commissioner chaired meetings regarding arrangements for monsoon and sacrificial animal sale points in the city.
