E&T Dept opens facilitation centre at LCCI

Businessmen will get rebate on property tax, concession on vehicle token tax

LAHORE:

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is getting various facilities from the Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department for its members that can also be availed through the E&T facilitation centre at the LCCI, an excise official said.

In a meeting, LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh and Excise and Taxation Secretary Wajihullah Kundi agreed to maximise cooperation in the larger interest of LCCI members.

With the latest development, the LCCI members can make their payments through the e-payment system at a dedicated counter of the E&T Department at the LCCI.

With this opportunity, the LCCI members will be able to get 15% rebate on property tax and 25% concession on the vehicle token tax. Kundi said the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department was providing services for the collection of various taxes and duties efficiently and effectively, and was suggesting ways and means for additional resource mobilisation in the province.

Apart from building taxpayers’ confidence, the creation of taxpaying culture and providing facilities for the general public in the payment of taxes were the topmost priority of the department, he said.

“Facilitation of the taxpayers is the mission of the department,” the E&T secretary remarked, adding that various relief measures had been taken for the people in the wake of Covid-19.

The LCCI president stressed that facilitation through the e-payment system at the dedicated counter of the E&T Department was a great relief for the LCCI members.
