Secretary Agriculture Kambar Dashti visited Barkhan district the other day and received a briefing on agriculture. Director General of Agriculture Arif Shah also accompanied the secretary during his visit where the latter called on the officers and landlords of the agriculture department on the occasion. Deputy director agriculture extension and assistant agriculture engineer MMD Barkhan briefed Dashti about the agricultural growth, potential and related activities. Expressing his views on the occasion, Dashti said agriculture is a key sector in the country’s economy that is also a source of employment for a large number of citizens. “Our government is taking measures to develop this district and every possible step is being taken to build it on modern lines,” Dashti said. “We will ensure provision of facilities to the people involved in the agricultural sector to also support the national economy,” he added.
