HYDERABAD:

A man shot and killed his wife in Qambar-Shahdadkot district on Monday, with the police suspecting the murder to be motivated by 'honour.'

Sujawal Junejo SHO Ahsaan Ali Buledi stated that the suspect, Muhammad Essa Magsi, had been arrested and the weapon used in the crime also recovered.

He added that Magsi killed his wife, 37-year-old Azizan Magsi, at their residence in a village in Sujawal Junejo.

The SHO further said that the police would register an FIR of the incident on the complaint of the woman's family,

Meanwhile, Jalaluddin Tangri, 35, was axed to death in a village in Hyderabad on Sunday. The body was found from an agricultural field near Shaikh Bhirkio, a small rural town of the city.

The victim's family staged a sit-in, blocking the road connecting Shaikh Bhirkio with Hyderabad in protest against the killing.

"My husband has been killed by the union council (UC) chairperson Haji Muhib Tangri," alleged Jalaluddin's wife, Ameena Tangri.
The deceased's brother, Ghulam Rasool Tangri, stated that Jalaluddin had gone for a gathering with a few friends the previous night. The family found his body in the morning, he added. According to him, his brother was recently involved in a dispute with the UC chairperson.

Meanwhile, Haji Munib told the media that Jalaluddin was his relative and he had no enmity with him. "I am being dragged into the case unnecessarily," he insisted.
