Punjab asserts Covid-19 facilities availability

During the last 24 hours, at least 3,047 patients recovered from coronavirus all over Punjab

Punjab government has released data of facilities related to coronavirus including treatment, high dependency units, isolation wards and ventilators, available in all hospitals of the province on the directive of Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid.

As per the latest data provided by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department and the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, as many as 54,658 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the government hospitals and returned to their homes.

During the last 24 hours, at least 3,047 patients recovered from coronavirus all over Punjab.

Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Secretary Barrister Nabeel Awan has said that 8,213 beds out of the total 8,902 reserved for Covid-19 patients are currently unoccupied.

In Lahore’s government hospitals, 2,130 beds are unoccupied out of the 2,347 reserved beds, he added.

Barrister Nabeel Awan further stated that in Punjab isolation wards, at least 5,441 beds are available out of 5,765 reserved for those inflicted with the pandemic. “Additionally, in isolation wards of hospitals in Lahore, 1,565 beds are unoccupied out of 1,633 reserved for Covid-19 patients,” he claimed.
