MQM chief Altaf Hussain said on Friday that the MQM would support the government in its sincere efforts for ‘durable peace’ in Karachi. Hussain added that his party always gave preference to the interest of the country and it would continue to work for the collective good of the nation.
Speaking at a joint session of MQM’s coordination committee in Pakistan and London, Hussain focused on the government fulfilling its responsibility to the people of Pakistan by finding solutions to their problems. He said that unemployment, inflation and scarcity of basic necessities were important factors that contributed to the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
“Besides working to restore peace and stability in Karachi and elsewhere in the country, the government must take effective measure to address certain problems such as unemployment, inflation, load-shedding, and unavailability of gas”, he added.
Hussain also demanded that the government compensate those who had been affected by the terror that engulfed the city.
