Police apprehend 12 suspects in brothel raid

Five others arrested for drug peddling, motorcycle snatching

As many as 12 people, including five women, were arrested by the Defence police when they raided a brothel in Defence Housing Authority Phase VII on Saturday night.

Clifton SP Imran Mirza revealed that Clifton SHO Muhammad Ali Niazi led the raid, arresting the owner, Jamshed, as well as 11 others.

Mirza stated that the arrested individuals were taken to the police station and were booked in a case.

Meanwhile, an alleged drug dealer, Tariq Niazi alias Heera, was arrested by the Pak Colony police during patrolling near Mewa Shah Graveyard.

At least three kilogrammes of hashish, a mobile phone and cash were confiscated from Niazi’s possession. According to the police, Niazi had been nominated in several cases.

Separately, two suspects were arrested in a raid at a gutka factory in Ibrahim Hyderi. Malir SSP Ali Raza revealed that large amounts of gutka, mawa and raw material used in their manufacturing were confiscated from the factory. The suspects, Usama and Sabir, were booked in a case, while an investigation has been launched against them.

In another incident, Ibrahim Hyderi SHO Chaudhry Shahid arrested suspects Zulfiqar alias Ata and Aijaz, while three of their accomplices managed to flee. The suspects are allegedly members of a motorcycle lifting gang. Two pistols were confiscated from their possession.

The police revealed that Zulfiqar was accused in eight cases relating to police encounters and robberies, and had also been arrested earlier.
