63 vehicles seized over SOPs violation

Traffic management officials also organized special awareness sessions at general bus stands and wagon stands

The District Regional Transport Authority (DRTA) has impounded 63 vehicles and imposed fines of over Rs447,400 on their owners over non-compliance with coronavirus SOPs, overcharging and overloading. According to a statement issued on Friday, DRTA Secretary Ejaz Joya briefed Deputy Commissioner Omar Sher Chattah duirng a meeting about a campaign regarding implementation of the SOPs. He said that the traffic management officials also organized special awareness sessions at general bus stands and wagon stands, and delivered lectures regarding the implementation of SOPs to the drivers, managers, conductors and the booking clerks.
