Covid-19 claims 17 more lives in Punjab
With 670 fresh infections on Friday, total cases exceed 85,260

The coronavirus disease claimed 17 more lives in the province over the last 24 hours. As per details, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the province exceeded 85,260 after registration of more than 670 new cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department on Friday the, total number of deaths were over 1,970 in the province.
The health department confirmed that 305 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the provincial capital, one new case in Nankana Sahib, 10 in Sheikhupura, 51 in Rawalpindi, 16 in Gujranwala, 13 in Narowal, 24 in Gujrat, 12 in Mandi Bahauddin, 38 in Multan, 14 in Vehari and 62 new cases in Faisalabad.

Moreover, eight new cases were reported in Toba Tek Singh, one in Jhang, four in Rahim Yar Khan, eight in Sargodha, four in Mianwali, 14 in Bahawalpur, four in Lodhran, four in Bahawalnagar, two in Bhakkar, and 21 new cases of Covid-19 had been reported in Sialkot district during the last 24 hours.
Punjab health department had conducted more than 572,950 tests for Covid-19 so far, while at least 52,641 confirmed cases had recovered all together in the province. The health department officials also appealed to the citizens to adopt government-mandated SOPs for their protection and cover their faces with masks.
