K-P finalises SOPs for schools

Educational institutions may reopen in September

PESHAWAR:

After the federal government announced to reopen educational institutions from September 15, the provincial government has finalized standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the purpose.

A weekly schedule has been prepared by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department (K-PESED) for the resumption of primary, middle, matriculation and intermediate classes.

The proposed recommendations suggest schools will operate in three shifts spanning three hours each under the SOPs. Schools will have to ensure the availability of clean water, disinfectants, and sanitizers.

The KP education department said that if the Covid-19 situation improves, educational institutions will reopen in September.
