RAWALPINDI:

The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) on Thursday observed anti-dengue day to sensitise people about precautions against the deadly disease. On the occasion, Wasa Managing Director (MD) Shaukat Mehmood said that the agency was playing its due role in the anti-dengue campaign. He added that until getting rid of the dengue mosquito, the agency would continue working with the city district government and health department. MD said that they had formed nine teams that were carrying out anti-dengue activism in Rawal and Potohar Towns. Mehmood said that all members of the teams were fully-trained and could easily identify dengue larvae. The official said that the WASA teams were also working to drain stagnant water using sucker machines in different areas of Rawalpindi.
