Flour sale at Rs860 per 20kg begins in Punjab

Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan says the Punjab government had taken timely action to provide flour at low price

After the release of wheat by the government to flour mills across Punjab, supply of flour in the markets at the controlled rate of Rs860 per 20kg bag has started.

In this regard, fair price shops and sale points have also been set up in different districts and reports about the latest situation have been sent to Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.

The supply of flour at the official rates has started in Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Vehari, Lodhran, Chiniot, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan districts.

The ex-mill price has been fixed at Rs837 and retail Rs860 per 20kg bag.

Sharing details of efforts made in this regard, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said the Punjab government had taken timely action to provide flour at low price to the citizens and release of wheat from government stock to the mills of the province ahead of schedule had been started.

He said the price of flour had come down significantly as a result of the measures.

The minister said the food department was on full alert across the province and the district administrations were also playing a proactive role in providing flour to consumers at an affordable rate.
