ISLAMABAD:

The district administration on Wednesday was directed to immediately remove all cattle pens from the Koral area of the city within a week and submit a report on it.

This was directed by a single-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.

Petitioner Syed Zubair Shah and Estate Council member Hasnain Haider appeared before the court on Wednesday and maintained that the cattle pens have turned the area into a filth depot. As a result, the entire area reeked of animal refuse.

The applicants pleaded with the court to direct AC Koral to remove all cattle pens from Koral and take action against the owners.

At this, the court directed the Koral Assistant Commissioner (AC) to ensure removal of all illegal cattle pens in Koral within a week and submit a report regarding it.

The court adjourned the case until July 15.
