The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has initiated a project for installing signboards of bus stops and lanes on roads. Initially, green bus stop signs have been installed at 10 points on Main Boulevard Gulberg and Jail Road. Gradually, the signs will be installed of bus stops on the Mall, Ferozepur Road, and Maulana Shaukat Ali Road. The spokesperson for the PSCA stated that the purpose of the signboards is to ensure that parking spots are fixed for public transport stops. Consequently, the passengers and other vehicles can follow the lane and traffic rules. The green bus signs will also help to prevent other vehicles from entering the bus lane. He continued that with the collaboration of the Lahore Transport Company (LTC) Speedo Buses will stop at the specified points. Later, parking spots will be marked for 20 to 25 bus stops of the LTC. For the implementation of the plan, traffic police will issue challans for parking of private vehicles at the public transport stops.
