Asad has released seven studio albums with his bands Awaz and Karavan notching up sales of more than 3 million copies. The guitarist has worked with Pakistan’s finest including albums by Rahat Fateh Ali, Vital Signs and many more.

Talking about his second solo album, Asad shared, “Even though I have a full-length album already recorded I wanted to put out something that would be a taste of things to come. Fans have been demanding new music so I wanted to give them something to listen to during this time of a pandemic."

He went on to add, "Making Severe Cuts (The EP) was the easiest and most comfortable experience. I would get up everyday and diligently work on a new track and in the process finished 5 new ones perfect for an EP. Severe Cuts (The EP) is the byproduct of these sessions breaking new ground musically and sonically yet also being a nod to the past with a sharp focus on the future.”
