Coronavirus claims 42 more lives, over 1,300 new cases emerge
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Tuesday that 42 more people had succumbed to the coronavirus in the province overnight, raising the death toll to 1,614, constituting 1.7 per cent of the total infected people.
"The death rate [in the province] was 1.6 per cent till Monday," he said. "It needs to be controlled through awareness and timely treatment," he stressed.
Meanwhile, 1,388 more people have tested positive for Covid-19, he added.
On the other hand, 821 people recovered from Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the total number of recovered patients in Sindh to 54,676, the CM said.
