Uplift schemes in Jhelum reviewed

DC says that they would never let public money go in waste

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rao Pervaiz Akhtar has said that special attention is being given to the development projects in the district. Akhtar chaired a meeting to review progress on the ongoing development schemes in Jhelum on Monday. Heads of all district departments participated in the meeting. The DC said that work on all uplift schemes in the district is in full swing. He added that 20 projects relate to the highway, 22 of building department, and 12 related to public health. Apart from those, the official said that development schemes pertaining to the construction of a small dam, irrigation system, tourism, preservation of ancient relics, and sports were also in progress. Akhtar said that the district administration was working on 31 schemes of community development, and 131 those of municipal services. DC said that they would never let public money go in waste and warned that usage of substandard material would not be tolerated at any cost.
