Police seize weapons, narcotics, stolen valuables during arrests

The district police claimed to have arrested 517 criminals, including over 180 proclaimed offenders, and recovered stolen and snatched valuables as well as weapons from them during June.

Officials said on Tuesday that a campaign against criminals was launched on the order of Kasur District Police Officer (DPO) Zahid Nawaz Marwat. As per police, their teams arrested 20 outlaws belonging to six gangs, 187 proclaimed offenders, 10 court absconders, 107 drug traffickers, 130 suspects with weapons and 66 gamblers.

The police teams also recovered stolen and snatched valuables worth Rs1.511 million. They seized illegal weapons, including two Kalashnikovs, 12 rifles, 22 guns, five carbines, 89 pistols, as well as narcotics, including 66 kilogrammes of hashish, 1,431 litres of liquor.

Police teams also unearthed distilleries and seized stake money from gamblers. The DPO said protection of life and property of the citizens was the prime responsibility of the police, which would be fulfilled at all costs.
