Sindh Chief Minister says 679 more people had regained health, taking the tally of recovered patients to 53,855

KARACHI:

As many as 46 people succumbed to the coronavirus in the province overnight, shared Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday, taking the provincial death toll to 1,572.

Shah added that Sindh saw 1,708 fresh cases of Covid-19, which pushed its total infections to 96,236.

According to him, 40,809 individuals were currently infected with the virus, of whom 38,875 were in home isolation, 1,607 at hospitals and 327 quarantined in isolation centres. Moreover, the condition of 623 patients was said to be critical, with 96 of them on ventilators.

The CM added that 679 more people had regained health, taking the tally of recovered patients to 53,855.

Of the newly reported cases in Sindh, 919 were reported in Karachi alone. Furthermore, 190 people were diagnosed with the contagious disease in Hyderabad, making it the worst-hit district outside Karachi on the day.
