SHC extends Memon’s interim bail
The Sindh High Court extended on Monday the interim bails of the accused, including the former provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, in assets beyond means case. A two-member bench, comprising Justice Khadim Hussain M Shaikh and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan, was hearing the case. The counsels of the two accused informed the court that their clients had contracted coronavirus, seeking an exemption from their appearance in court after submitting their medical reports. The court granted the exemption and adjourned the hearing till August 18, extending the interim bails of Memon and other accused till the next hearing. According to the National Accountability Bureau, Memon and others are accused of acquiring assets worth Rs2.27 through corruption. A reference has been filed against the accused in the trial court.
