Infrastructure projects Asad Umar reviews progress

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar chaired a meeting on Monday to review various road infrastructure projects under public-private partnership (PPP) mode. The minister was briefed by the meeting participants on various projects which are currently under consideration to be implemented under PPP mode. The meeting was informed that apart from Sukkur Hyderabad Motorway, which has been approved by Central Development Working Party (CDWP), two more road projects namely N-25 Karachi-Quetta Road worth approximately Rs200 billion and Mianwali- Muzaffargarh Road worth Rs100 billion are also being processed for implementation under PPP mode. Umar said that these projects would help provide good road infrastructure facilities in collaboration with private sector. The minister further directed the participants to complete the design and feasibility studies of both the project by March 31, 2021.
