A 22-year-old civilian was injured in unprovoked Indian firing along the Line of Control (LoC) late on Saturday night.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian troops targeted civilian population in the Battal Sector, using mortars and weapons.
"Indian Army troops [resorted to] unprovoked ceasefire violation in Battal Sector along LoC, targeting civil population with mortars and heavy weapons, late last night," the ISPR spokesperson said in a tweet.
He added that Pakistan Army responded effectively to the Indian firing.
Earlier, on July 1, Indian Army had initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC, killing a resident of Talwari village.
The ISPR spokesperson said a young boy was martyred due to indiscriminate firing by the Indian armed forces.
On July 2, Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui had condemned Indian security forces’ unabated ceasefire violations along the LoC.
She added that in the first six months of 2020, 1,546 ceasefire violations occurred, resulting in the martyrdom of 14 innocent civilians and serious injuries to 114 others.
