Civilian injured in another Indian ceasefire violation along LoC
A 22-year-old civilian was injured as the Indian armed forces yet again resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on late Saturday night.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian troops targeted civilian population in the Battal Sector, using mortars and weapons.
"Indian Army troops unprovoked ceasefire violation in Battal Sector along LoC, targeting civil population with mortars and heavy weapons, late last night," the ISPR spokesperson said in a tweet.
He added that the Pakistan Army responded effectively to the Indian firing.
Earlier, on July 1, the Indian Army had initiated yet another unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC, killing a resident of Talwari village.
The ISPR spokesperson said a young boy was martyred due to indiscriminate firing by the Indian armed forces.
On July 2, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui had condemned Indian security forces unabated ceasefire violations along the LOC.
She added that in the first six months of 2020,1,546 ceasefire violations have occurred, resulting in the martyrdom of 14 and serious injuries to 114 innocent civilians.
