ISLAMABAD:

The number of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases observed a significant drop in federal capital on Saturday as below 100 positive cases were reported in the previous 24 hours.

The District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Zaeem Zia said: "We are investigating a total of 97 positive cases today, record low after many weeks. We have run 2,327 tests and the positivity remains 4.1 per cent. Our recoveries are 68 per cent".

He said that the numbers have come down, “but we cannot take it as the end, it may be the beginning of another battle. We are just glad to see lower positivity for now."

Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat in his social media message said that first time the city recorded more than 100 cases of coronavirus was May 20. After a comprehensive Test Track and Quarantine (TTQ) implementation the numbers have come down to 97 per day.
