Fraudster netted after eight years

LAHORE:

A suspect involved in fraud was arrested on Thursday. The arrested suspect has been identified as Malik Shahawar. The suspect has been declared proclaimed offender (PO) and wanted by police for over eight years. Shahwar eight years back had defrauded a person of at least Rs1.1 million. He had received a cheque of Rs1.1 million from a man for a plot. However, despite the passage of several years, the suspect neither returned the cheque nor handed him over the land. A case was registered against him and the suspect has been arrested after eight years. Further investigations into the matter were underway.
