Army Chief General Qamar Javed on Tuesday visited Karachi and praised law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for foiling the Tuesday's terror attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) building.
"Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Corps Headquarters Karachi and Pakistan Rangers Sindh today," a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz received the COAS, the miltray's media wing said, adding that General Qamar was briefed on the operational matters and internal security situation.
The army chief interacted with troops and directed them to remain vigilant against emerging challenges.
"The COAS expressed satisfaction over coherent response by LEAs in ensuring peace in Karachi and paid tribute to LEAs for countering nefarious designs of enemies," the ISPR said.
General Qamar also visited Garrison Health and Diagnostic Centre and Field Isolation Centre establihsed at Karachi's Expo Centre and launded the miltray's fromation for supporing national response against the Covd-19 pandemic.
"Earlier, on arrival at the Headquarters Sindh Rangers, the COAS laid floral wreath at Shahuada monument and offered Fateha," the ISPR added.
