ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) rejected a request of the Sindh government to suspend Punjab's water supply on Friday.

Sindh had asked IRSA to suspend the water supply of Punjab from Chashma, Jhelum and Taunsa-Panjnad Link Canals. However, Chairman IRSA Rao Irshad Ali, rejected the demand adding that he observed that Sindh is being provided 3% more water than its due share.

He said Sindh will be given its share of water from Mangla Dam in April as well.

Despite concerns over the ongoing water supply to Punjab, IRSA is providing 4000 cusecs from the Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal and 3000 cusecs from the Taunsa-Panjnad Link Canal.
