Two G-9 areas to remain sealed for 5 more days
Another 10 neighbourhoods of Pindi could be sealed
RAWALPINDI/ ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) on Tuesday decided to extend the ‘smart lockdown’ in two subsectors of Sector G-9 for another five days.
Sectors G-9/2 and 3 had been sealed after novel coronavirus (Covid-19) clusters appeared to be forming there. To make sure that the cluster is broken up, the authorities have decided to extend the closure of the subsectors until Sunday.
Meanwhile in Rawalpindi, with the number of Covid-19 cases rising to 5,431, the district administration has decided to declare 10 more areas of the city as hotspots and strictly impose a smart lockdown there.

Identified with the help of the health department and the special branch, these areas include Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment Board along with some other areas in the city.
Officials added that they will analyse the cases emerging across the city to declare them as hotspots. Moreover, they are also scrutinising the 22 areas of the city which have already been declared as hotspots.
Separately, the police have arrested a chemist who was selling Actemra Injections (used for Covid-19 critical patients) at eight times the price.
