Sindh’s virus tally reaches 71,092
Over 37,000 patients have recovered so far
KARACHI: As many as 1,464 new cases of coronavirus have emerged in Sindh and 14 more patients have died, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday.With the new cases and losses the provincial tally has risen to 71,092, while the death toll has reached 1,103.
Shah revealed that the new cases, which account for 15 per cent of the total samples, emerged when 9,841 tests were conducted.
He added that so far 388,690 tests have been conducted, 18.3 per cent of which were positive.
Meanwhile, the mortality rate has reached 1.5 per cent in the province, he claimed.
The CM further shared that 617 patients were currently in critical condition, of whom 111 had been put on ventilators. He stated that as many as 32,945 patients were undergoing treatment, 31,390 of whom were in home isolation, 1,508 in different hospitals across the province and 47 in isolation centres.
He further maintained that as many as 766 patients have recovered bringing the number of recuperated patients to 37,044.
